When customers commission a one-off piece or think about remodelling existing jewellery, they can be inspired by viewing John’s library of work. 1. The small aquamarine stones for this pair of silver bangles were specially sourced by John from Hatton Garden. Their fully saturated colour indicates that they are of the finest quality. He contrasts their polished rub-over settings with the bangles’ delicately frosted finish. 2. John studded this wedding band of frosted 18 carat yellow-gold with brilliant-cut diamonds using rub-over settings, so the diamonds appear to have been pushed into the surface of the gold. 3. For this 18 carat white-gold ring, John surrounded the 2.91 carat yellow pear-shaped beryl stone with brilliant-cut diamonds and set a pear-shaped diamond on each shoulder of the ring. 4. John set this equestrian’s stock-pin with pink sapphires in a silver barley-twist tapered to silver beads. 5. To enhance its distinctive design, John set one tip of this cross-over tapered 18 carat white-gold ring with a single pear-shaped sapphire, and the other with a single brilliant-cut diamond, both in rub-over settings. 6. The prototype for this heavy sculptured silver ring John carved in wax before investing in plaster and casting in silver. Finally he cleaned up the casting, finished and polished it. 7. These ripple-design 18 carat, white-gold cufflinks, with their yellow-gold edging, are set with two brilliant-cut diamonds. 8. Platinum is denser and more hard-wearing than gold, yet it is a by-product of copper mining. In this square-banded ring of platinum John set a single 1.6 carat brilliant-cut diamond, surrounded by1.7mm round-cut pave diamonds with princess-cut diamonds along each shoulder. He modelled the underside of the setting to fit snugly against a wedding band. 9. On the brushed textured surface of this wide 18 carat white-gold band, John uses rub-over settings for the scattered aquamarines. 10. This18 carat white-gold ring’s fine marquis diamond is contained in a cross-over knife-edge shank. The rub-over setting compliments its clean modern lines. 11. The purpose of this plain silver bangle with its simple hinged clasp is to display its large tiger-eye stone. 12. For this pair of 25th Anniversary silver cuff-links John has made clever use of numbered punches to produce a scatter design. 13. A single, brilliant-cut diamond in a rub-over setting is the focus of this concave 18 carat white-gold band. 14. The claw settings for these two Ceylon sapphires, each with its cluster of brilliant-cut diamonds, add texture and richness to this pair of elegant stud earings. 15. A simple, silver wire-edged ring displays this heart-shaped garnet in a heart-shaped, rub-over setting. These specially commissioned pieces made by John are complimented by a range of jewellery selected from the most reliable sources in London and Birmingham. Certified Conflict-Free Diamonds. If every consumer demanded a certified conflict-free diamond, the market for non-certified “conflict” or “blood” diamonds would cease to exist. This is the objective of The Conflict-Free Diamond Council, to provide consumers with all the information necessary to purchase certified conflict-free diamonds.
